Matrix OZIK M3 Black Tie Played by Valero Texas Open Champion Read More...
Apr. 08. 2013

Anaheim, CA- Matrix Shafts would like to congratulate the winner of the Texas Valero Open who used an OZIK 8M3 Black Tie in his TaylorMade RBZ STAGE 2 driver to take the win on Sunday and earn an invitation to the Masters.

“It was a great win for the Matrix tour team,” said Director of Tour Operations, Joe Miera. “We work really hard with every player each week to find the perfect shaft fit for them. Once we find that fit and see winning results like this, it is very rewarding and definitely keeps the momentum going.”

Having been the first model in the Matrix Flight System to be released, the OZIK M3 series represents the culmination of what Matrix has learned in recent years regarding what the young, aggressive power players on the PGA Tour demand. Designed on the industry leading and patented HD platform, the OZIK M3 features a low-launching, low-spinning ball flight often preferred by players with higher ball speed. The genesis of the M3 resonates from the flight model of the highly successful M2 series, a winner of numerous PGA Tour events including two Majors. Better players preferring additional stability in the tip section will benefit from the tightest design construct ever released by the Matrix R&D team.

Matrix Shafts Announces Release of OZIK Q3 Red Tie Read More...
Jan. 09. 2013

Anaheim,CA- Matrix Shafts is pleased to announce the release of the OZIK Q3 Red Tie, the final shaft in the new Matrix Flight System. This evolutionary design resonates from the highly successful OZIK HD series, which was the #1 shaft model on the PGA Tour in 2011. The Q3 Red Tie is designed to increase stability and accuracy, resulting in a higher ball speed than ever before in our mid-launching, mid-spinning shafts.

Chief Designer of R&D, Daniel You, wanted to bring this model to a whole new performance level, taking his time to perfect the design to the very last detail.

“We had such great success with the HD series that we wanted to modify the structure to make it even better,” said Chief Designer of R&D, Daniel You. “This shaft profile fits fifty percent of all golfers, so we have had them in mind from the beginning planning stages of the Q3 to bring them something they have never seen before. We are confident that golfers who played the HD series will be very happy with the Q3 and what it will add to their golf game.”

The release of the mid-launching, mid-spinning Q3 Red Tie now  joins the low-launching, low-spinning M3 Black Tie, and the high-launching, low-spinning X3 White Tie, to complete the Matrix Flight System.

The OZIK Q3 Red Tie will be making its debut at the 2013 PGA Show in Orlando, at the end of the month.

Back to Back Wins for Matrix Shafts on Champions Tour Read More...
Mar. 26. 2013

Anaheim, CA-Matrix Shafts would like to congratulate the winner of the Champions Tour-Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic, who took the win after a playoff on Sunday. Playing the OZIK X3 White Tie in his Adams LS 3-wood, this 2009 PGA Senior Championship winner shot -11 after 4 rounds. This was the second win in a row for Matrix Shafts on the Champions Tour.

The OZIK X3 White Tie was the second model released of the three new Matrix Flight System shafts.  Representing the next gen OZIK XCON, the OZIK X3 White Tie fits golfers who prefer a high-launch, low-spin ball flight. The Matrix R&D team took the designs of the XCON and found a way to increase the stability and provide a tighter feel through the shaft in the X3, without having to increase the overall weight. With a progressively linear graduation at impact, the X3 White Tie is more efficient in energy, travel and transfer, resulting in a higher ball speed that stronger players prefer.

“It’s always great for the brand to have a win with one of our newest shafts,” said Director of Tour Operations, Joe Miera. “The Matrix Flight System was created to simplify the shaft selection process for golfers on all levels. This concept and these shaft models have been widely accepted from all tour playing fields. I look forward to hearing more great things about the Matrix Flight System shafts as we move further into the season.”

Matrix Shafts Continues to Increase Count on Tour Read More...
Jul. 11. 2012

Anaheim, CA- In this 2012 PGA Tour season MATRIX Shafts continues to outpace the 2011 campaign by achieving remarkable gains. MATRIX has increased its shaft count in 83% of the tournaments so far for this year. As MATRIX continues to cater to what the PGA Tour players are asking for and creating designs such as the OZIK Black Tie M3, OZIK Altus and the OZIK TP7HD, we are continuing to see winning results week after week. Although the longest tenured on tour, the OZIK Altus is one shaft in particular that has stood out this year, having been the most used shaft eight times on the PGA Tour so far, most recently at the Greenbrier Classic. This is an exciting time for MATRIX Shafts as we continue to see winning results on the PGA Tour and are now expanding our reach into the European Tour starting this week at the Scottish Open.

Mizuno Selects Matrix OZIK Program 130 Iron Shafts For Custom Fitting Read More...
Aug. 31. 2012

Anaheim, CA-Matrix Shafts is proud to announce the inclusion of the OZIK Program 130 iron shaft as a standard offering in Mizuno's Performance Fitting System. The OZIK Program 130 through Mizuno will be available on September 10th.

Introduced in early 2011, the OZIK Program series has been played by some of the best players in the world and has shown extreme success on tour since its inception. The OZIK Program HD iron shafts are the first iron structures in golf to incorporate HD technology. After advanced DE analysis of the leading steel iron shafts, Matrix engineers discovered inefficiencies that are manifested in shaft instability and dispersion. To combat this inefficiency Matrix head of R&D Daniel You, engineered the OZIK Program HD iron shaft to be more stable and launch progressively higher as you get into the longer irons. Additionally, OZIK Program HD irons are designed to add 12% more spin to offset the loss in spin rate caused by the new USGA groove rule.
